The Fantastic Noodles Pro Junior is in South Australia July 16th - 19th. Day 1 was called off due to crap conditions. Check back for updates on the progress of the Far North Coast grommets.

UPDATE July 17
Owen Wright started in his usual fashion today and won his heat in the round of 64 by a mile with scores of 7.75 and 9.25 . Garrett Parkes made it through in a tight heat and both of the groms are into the final 32. Good luck fellahs

UPDATE July 18
Owen and Garrett are going really well , both won their round of 32 heats and are into the final 16.

UPDATE July 18
Plenty of news from South Oz today. Garrett was knocked in the round of 16 so finished in 13th. Owen Wright has pulled the pin, even though he was still in the event, to head over to the States for the U.S Open. His sisters are on opposite sides of the draw and both in the semis so an all Wright final could be on the cards in the female division. Interesting times if your last name is Wright

UPDATE July 19
Kirby couldn't find the right waves and finished 3rd. Tyler led for most of the final but was beaten in the dying minutes and finished in 2nd. Another great result for Tyler and the Wright family

The Coca-Cola Saquarema Pro '09 runs from July 14 - 19. James Woods surfs in the round of 144 and Adam Melling starts in the round of 96. Good Luck Fellahs.
In WCT news Keiren Perrow has had another solid result with a 9th at the Billabong Pro Jefferies Bay.

UPDATE July 15
Woody had a huge win in tiny windswell garbage to go into the round of 96. It was definitely the opposite of the Dream Tour out there today.

UPDATE July 16
Good news from Brazil overnight with Adam and Woody both making it into the round of 48. They will be surfing in the 2nd & 3rd heats of the day when competition resumes.

UPDATE July 17
Woody had the bad luck to draw a heat with 3 Brazilians. He stayed strong and tried to hold the inside for the whole heat. Unfortunately the Brazil-nuts did a number on him and Jimmy had to cop it. Obviously Leandro Bastos ,Willian Cardoso and Gabriel Medina have no intentions of surfing Lennox Point in the near future.
Mello surfed against a crew from everywhere except Brazil but lacked his usual intensity and was left behind for another 37th.

Up next is the Hurley US Open of Surfing with a record $US 100,000 1st prize.

Well done to Kirstin Ogden who also had an impressive win in her first round heat. More results to come......

UPDATE July 12
Big east swell and difficult conditions for the groms today. In the U12 boys Zac Wightman and Jeames Young are in the 1/4 finals. In the U14 girls Steph Single and Kirstin Ogden are both set to battle it out in the final. In the U16 girls Tyler Wright is an unstoppable force of nature and looks set to claim her second title in a fortnight. In the under 14 boys Mikey Wright , Soli Bailey and Tommy Boucat are all in the 1/4 finals - good work boys and keep it up. In the U16 boys Nikki Hoskins is the last far north coast grom standing.

UPDATE July 13
A Wright family double today with Tyler winning the U16 Girls and Mikey winning the U14 Boys. Tyler left it till the dying minutes to get her second wave and seal the deal while Mikey started with a 10 and dominated his final. Zac Wightman came 4th in the U12 Boys. Tommy Boucat surfed well in the U14 Boys but couldn't get near Mikey to finish in 4th. Kirstin Ogden came 2nd while Steph Single finished 3rd in the U14 Girls. Nikki Hoskins hard a tough final in the U16 Boys and finished 4th overall.
A fantastic result for surfers from the Far North Coast.

Tyler Wright took down everyone to win the under 16 girls. Earlier in the week some were saying that her winning would be anything but a forgone conclusion. They underestimated Tyler.Soli Bailey backed up all his good form for '09 and finished in 3rd while Mikey Wright did well to win his semi final and finished the event in 4th in the under 14's. Nikki Hoskins had a good run and finished 7th in the hotly contested under 16's. Jeames Young had a great event and finished 4th in the under 12's. The 14 girls division was also finalised today with Byron blaster Kirsten Ogden shooting into the limelight with her own brand of backhand surfing for a massive win.
